ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) pharmaceuticals

The German group BASF (global turnover of EUR 29.473 billion in 1999) will sell KNOLL PHARMA (turnover of EUR 2.48 billion in 1999 with 10,000 employees) to the American ABBOTT LABORATORIES (turnover of USD 13.2 billion in 1999) for USD 6.9 billion. The sale covers "all the German and international activities" of KNOLL PHARMA, division gathering together the global pharmaceuticals activities of the group.
