08/12/2000 (Agence Europe) - In Paris on 11 and 12 December, the French Presidency of the Council is organising "Estates General of rail freight", in anticipation of the forthcoming adoption of the EU's "rail package" on the liberalisation of the rail sector. Expected to participate in this get together are European Commission Vice-President, Loyola de Palacio, the Transport Ministers of France, Jean-Claude Gayssot, Italy, Pierliugi Bersani, and Germany, Kurt Bodewig, as well as the French Minister of the Environment, Dominique Voynet, and the Chairman of the "Conseil Superieur du Service Public Ferroviaire", Jean-Jacques Filleul.
