France and Switzerland envisage total ban on bone meal - British Conservatives call for embargo on French beef

Brussels, 07/11/2000 (Agence Europe) - France must prepare itself for a total ban on bone meal in animal feed, and reflect upon substitute feed, said French Agriculture Minister Jean Glavany. "Bone meal has caused so many problems. It must be withdrawn from use to simplify things, and we are working on this", said Mr Glavany during a televised interview.
