Brussels, 31/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, the European commission received the plan drawn up by the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the European federation (UEFA), in liaison with national federations and club representatives, concerning transfer schemes for football players in the EU. The Commission's request for a detailed plan before end-October has thus been satisfied; which does not mean that the plan is considered satisfactory. The competition services will examine it - in liaison with the "social affairs" and "culture/sport" directorates general - to see whether it complies with Community rules. Following an initial examination, meetings will be organised with sports leaders to look at any points of difference.
