29/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - The conference of the European Liberal, Democrat and Reformist Parties (ELDR) concluded with the election of Werner Hoyer as President, succeeding Uffe Ellemann-Jensen (former Danish Foreign Minister). Werner Hoyer (Germany), who has served as Vice-President of the ELDR since 1995, was State Minister at the Auswärtiges Amt and Secretary General of the FDP. The ELDR has 38 member parties.
