Initial agreement between Commission and football world over problem of football player transfers

Strasbourg, 07/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - Following a meeting with representatives from the national football leagues, Thursday afternoon in Strasbourg, the Commissioner Viviane Reding felt that there exists "a real desire to work together towards a new system of football player transfers and to finish as soon as possible".
