Commission prohibits Italian regional aid to Fiat Mirafiori Carrozzeria, but approves aid to innovation

Brussels, 13/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has judged part of the regional aid Italy paid out to Mirafiori Carrozeria, of 2.9 million euro (5.63 billion lira) to be incompatible with the rules of the common market. It has, however, approved those elements of aid earmarked for innovation, corresponding to 3.5 million euro (6.9 billion lira).
