Green light for acquisition of Danone brewing activities (Kronenberg beer) by Scottish & Newcastle

Brussels, 13/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission gave its assent to the acquisition by Scottish & Newcastle of the brewing activities belonging to the agri-foodstuff group Danone in France and Belgium. More specifically, the British brewer will acquire exclusive control of the Kronenberg breweries, which will be integrated into the activities it has in the United Kingdom and Ireland brewing sectors.
