Brussels, 13/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - In order to relaunch, within the Union, the procedures for authorisation of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), which are currently the subject of a de facto moratorium, and to restore consumer confidence in biotechnology food products, the European Commission defined a new strategy founded on the precautionary principle.
