Parliament gives discharge to Commission for 1998 budget - Mrs. Stauner votes against own report, because amendments over Fléchard case have been rejected

Strasbourg, 06/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - This Thursday the European Parliament closed the discharge procedure for the execution of the 1998 budget, granting the discharge to European Commission and also the European Parliament for its own budget. The Parliament approved, by 443 yes, 64 no and 27 abstentions, the resolution which considered that the Commission answered, in a satisfactory manner, most of the questions put to it by the Parliamentary resolution of last April.
