Brussels, 06/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is threatening to resolve the differences on bananas by directly moving to a solely tariff based system if, by next October, the parties concerned by the reform required by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) are still not on the path of a transitory quota solution, which would give them the time to prepare for the dismantling of the quotas in 2006.
