Brussels, 05/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - As tradition would have it, the Ecofin Council meeting on Monday 8 May with Portugal's Finance Minister Joaquim Pina Moura chairing will be preceded by a meeting of the Euro Group. Given the ongoing weakness of the European currency against the dollar, this meeting of the Finance Ministers of the euro area countries will be a particularly important one.
