02/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - German Chancellor Mr. Schroeder met the Prime Ministers of Poland Mr. Buzek, Hungary, Mr. Orban, the Czech Republic, Mr. Zeman and Slovakia, Mr. Dzurinda, in Gniezno, Poland, on Friday. At the end of that meeting, the five heads of government published a declaration in which they state their will to combat xenophobia, nationalism, racism and totalitarian ideologies and to respect regional and cultural differences. On that occasion, Mr. Dzurinda said that the countries of Central Europe had to take the Benelux as example to develop cooperation between themselves, and Chancellor Schroeder said that EU enlargement eastward would be all the easier were relations between candidate countries intensified and placed on a more regular basis.
