- Poland: Four foreign groups had responded to the call for bids on 25% to 35% of the Polish national operator TPSA -TELEKOMUNIKACJA POLSKA (telecommunications) at the closing date. The Polish Treasury has not revealed the bidders' names but FRANCE TELECOM and TELECOM ITALIA have already confirmed that they are candidates, and Spain's TELEFÓNICA is also thought to have bid.
