Commission can no longer provide humanitarian aid if Sudan People's Liberation Army does not guarantee safety of humanitarian personnel

Brussels, 29/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - European Commissioner Poul Nielson condemned, in a statement, the attitude of the Sudan People's Liberation Army against certain humanitarian aid NGOs and announced, with regret, the possible interruption of EU humanitarian aid if the safety conditions required for the work of the humanitarian personnel are not reestablished. He declared:
