Boris Trajkovski, new President of FYROM, makes his first visit to Brussels

Brussels, 02/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - Boris Trajkovski, recently elected President of the Republic of Macedonia, is making his first visit to the European institutions on Thursday and Friday, 3 and 4 February. The visit coincides with the opening of negotiations between the EU and his country for the conclusion of a stabilisation and association agreement.

In Brussels, the new President of FYROM will meet, on the morning of 3 February, European Commissioner for External Relations Chris Patten and Special Coordinator for the EU Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe Bodo Hombach. After a lunch hosted by Member of the EP Doris Pack, Chair of Parliament's Delegation for Relations with South Eastern Europe, President Trajkovski will meet the President of the European Parliament, Nicole Fontaine, and European Commission President Romano Prodi. On the morning of 4 February, Mr Trajkovski will hold a meeting with Javier Solana, EU Council Secretary General and CFSP High Represenative.
