FRANCE TELECOM has made $3.882 billion available for acquisition of GLOBAL ONE, the operator specialised in international telecommunications created in 1996 by the French group, DEUTSCHE TELEKOM and American SPRINT. Its German partner will receive $2.755 billion in cash while SPRINT will receive $1.127 billion. GLOBAL ONE, worth $5.386 billion with this transaction, has accumulated $2.7 billion in losses since its creation for a turnover of less than $1 billion in 1999.
