18/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Chair of the EP Delegation for Relations with the Palestinian Legislative Council, Luisa Morgantini (Italy, United Left), denounced on Tuesday in Strasbourg, before the press, the ongoing creation of Jewish settlements in the Palestinian territories. "I recently visited the area", she said, showing a map illustrating the situation, and "I saw the increasing number of these communities and the impossibility for Palestinians to circulate freely", she continued. Mrs Morgantini went on to insist that the Palestinians must also respect human rights, in particular by abolishing the death penalty.
