Condemnation of Korean import restrictions on dairy products confirmed

Brussels, 18/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Dispute Settlement Body of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) has confirmed, on appeal, the verdict of the panel which, interpreting the Multilateral Agreement on safeguard measures for the first time, had condemned the Korean restrictions on imports of dairy produce. Challenged by the European Union in July 1998, these measures were supposed to counter a strong rise in imports of dairy products, through quotas of the mixtures used for manufacturing...
