24/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – Following the agreement reached at the level of the heads of state or government on 18 June (see EUROPE 13891/1), the ambassadors of the Member States to the EU approved on Wednesday 24 June the extension of sectoral sanctions against Russia for 12 months, that is until the end of July 2027. These sanctions, in place since 2014, have until now been renewed every six months. The decision is expected to be adopted by written procedure this Thursday. (CG)
