Seventeen EU countries sign joint declaration to create testing platforms for autonomous vehicles

08/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – Meeting in Luxembourg for a Transport Council on Monday 8 June, seventeen EU Member States signed a joint declaration aimed at setting up cross-border platforms dedicated to testing autonomous vehicles. This initiative is part of the European action plan for the automotive industry, European Commissioner for Transport Apóstolos Tzitzikóstas recalled during a public debate. The declaration of intent will serve as a basis for cooperation between the various signatory countries and for the deployment of automated vehicles on their respective territories.
