European Peace Facility – EU Council adopts €20 million aid measure for Egyptian Armed Forces

08/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 8 June, the EU Council adopted an assistance measure under the European Peace Facility (EPF) worth €20 million for the Egyptian Armed Forces (EAF), to help them ensure maritime security in the Mediterranean and the Red Sea. This decision brings total EU assistance to Egypt through the European Peace Facility to €40 million since 2024. (CG)
