On Thursday 4 June, the European Commission launched the ‘Simplification Platform’, a high-level group of experts that will work on simplification and on easing administrative constraints, according to a press release.
“The Platform will contribute to assessing progress achieved on simplification efforts and help identify emerging priorities and needs, providing renewed impetus to the EU’s broader simplification agenda. It will help the Commission identify where EU rules are too complex in practice, and how they can be made simpler for people, businesses and administrations.”
It will bring together national, regional and local authorities from the Member States, the Committee of the Regions, supported by the Network of Regional Hubs, the European Economic and Social Committee, the social partners, small and large businesses, consumer and environmental organisations, and NGOs.
The call for applications to select experts for the Simplification Platform has been published online. Interested persons are invited to submit their application to the secretariat of the Simplification Platform. Applications may be submitted until 10 July.
