24/04/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday, 23 April, the European Commission invited citizens, businesses, and stakeholders to share their input as part of a public consultation (https://aeur.eu/f/loz ) on an EU aviation and aeronautics strategy. In its press release, the European Commission stressed, “The strategy will set out a comprehensive framework to strengthen Europe’s aviation and aeronautical sectors at a time of heightened uncertainty.” It explained that the strategy would endeavour to strengthen the sectors’ competitiveness, resilience, and decarbonisation while preserving Europe’s strategic autonomy and industrial leadership. According to the European Commission, the strategy will make it possible to accelerate the green and digital transitions, mobilise investments in innovation, ensure a level playing field, maintain the highest safety standards, and strengthen the aviation sector’s capacity to respond to crises and security challenges.
