08/04/26 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 8 April, the European Commission has announced the launch of a digital dialogue with the Kingdom of Morocco, with a view to “fostering cooperation” in areas such as artificial intelligence, support for digital start-ups and digital infrastructures. The two parties wish to facilitate the joint deployment of infrastructures for the AI sector, such as computing ecosystems, ensure greater interoperability between the EU and Moroccan frameworks and strengthen cooperation between Moroccan AI research institutes and the EU’s ‘AI Factories’ (see EUROPE 13788/20). At the same time, four European supercomputing centres (BSC, CINECA, GENCI and LUMI) have already signed a letter of intent with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, which hosts the most powerful supercomputer on the African continent.
