Brussels, 27/02/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 26 February, the European Commission reported the results of a five-day visit by an Indonesian delegation to Brussels, Germany and Denmark, which concluded on 13 February, as part of a fact-finding mission focusing on the recognition of the EU as a single entity for halal certification. The aim of the visit was to pave the way for “better recognition” by Indonesia of certificates of conformity issued by European bodies for activities spanning several Member States. This recognition should then facilitate the export of products with value chains spanning several EU countries to Indonesia. In 2025, the EU concluded negotiations on a comprehensive economic partnership agreement with the country, its fifth largest trading partner within ASEAN. (PLD)
