15/10/25 (Agence Europe) – Ahead of the ‘General Affairs’ Council on 21 October and the European Council on 23 October, the Danish Presidency of the EU Council has prepared a document summarising the state of work on the six packages of ‘Omnibus’ legislation to simplify EU regulations. Since the presentation of the first ‘Omnibus’ in February (see EUROPE 13588/4), two so-called ‘stop-the-clock’ texts, which postpone the entry into force of several pieces of legislation, have already been adopted. They affect the CSRD and CSDDD directives and the Batteries Regulation. As for the pure and simple modification of legislation, the ‘Omnibus’ on the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism has been adopted and that on the revision of the InvestEU programme should soon be as well (see EUROPE 13716/19). Others are expected by the end of the year, such as the simplification of the CSDDD and CSRD directives (see EUROPE 13729/18). To see the Danish Presidency report: https://aeur.eu/f/iyo (LM)
