19/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 18 September, the European Commission announced that it was initiating an anti-dumping investigation into imports of Chinese alkyl phosphonic acids and their sodium salts. These products are used particularly in cleaning products. The German chemicals company Lanxess lodged a complaint with the Commission in August, suspecting that the manufacture of these products in China was largely supported by the state in various ways. In view of the evidence already provided, and also taking into account that an anti-dumping duty has already been imposed on certain Chinese alkyl phosphate esters, which is a related product, the Commission considers that it can legitimately initiate an investigation.
