EU releases €1.3 million to combat a cholera epidemic

01/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – At the end of August, the European Commission released a further €1.35 million in emergency financial aid to combat the cholera epidemic in eastern Chad. The disease was detected in July in a refugee camp in Ouaddaï province. This emergency aid from the European Union is aimed at curbing the spread of the disease in a region that has been facing an influx of almost 1.2 million people fleeing the conflict in neighbouring Sudan since April 2023.
