01/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – After receiving a complaint in July from a coalition of European pea protein producers, the European Commission decided, on Friday 29 August, to open an anti-dumping investigation into imports of this product from China. The complainants have observed significant increases in imports. These high import volumes, combined with very low prices, have seriously affected the financial situation of local producers, they complain. The Commission considers that it has sufficient evidence to justify opening an investigation. It will therefore have to decide, within 14 months at the latest, whether to impose an anti-dumping duty on these Chinese products. To see the notice of initiation: https://aeur.eu/f/i7o (LM)
