31/03/25 (Agence Europe) – The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, has announced her decision to suspend the daily allowance of Grzegorz Braun (NI, Polish) for 30 days and to ban him from attending any parliamentary meetings for the same period. This member of the far-right Konfederacja party had disrupted the European Parliament plenary session paying tribute to the victims of Nazism at the end of January (see EUROPE 13568/25). He has already been excluded from the plenary session to be held in January 2026 in memory of the Holocaust. Ms Metsola also decided to sanction Alvise Pérez (NI, Spanish) for breaching the obligation of transparency regarding his activities. The MEP from the ‘Se acabó la fiesta’ movement will have his entitlement to daily benefits suspended for two days. (MB)
