Renewable energy sources accounted for 46.9% of net electricity production in EU in 2024

20/03/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 19 March, Eurostat reported that 46.9% of the EU’s net electricity generation came from renewable energy sources in 2024. This represents an increase of 2.1 percentage points (pp) compared to 2023. Denmark leads the way with the highest share of renewable energy in the EU’s net electricity generation (88.4%).
