Brussels, 07/03/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 6 March, the European Banking Authority (EBA) launched a public consultation on four draft Regulatory Technical Standards relating to the EU’s anti-money laundering and countering terrorist financing (AML/CFT) regime, adopted in May 2024 (see EUROPE 13420/20). These standards will shape how institutions and supervisors will comply with their AML/CFT obligations. The consultation covers four aspects: - the way the new EU Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AMLA) will decide which institutions will be subject to direct supervision; - determining the ML/TF risk associated with each institution; - the extent and quality of the information that institutions will have to obtain; - the indicators and criteria to be taken into account when setting the level of pecuniary sanctions. The consultation is open until Friday 6 June. For more information, see: https://aeur.eu/f/fsq (AD)
