MEPs adopt urgency procedure on potential postponement of regulation on imported deforestation

23/10/2024 (Agence Europe) – At a plenary session vote on Wednesday 23 October, MEPs voted in favour of the European Parliament adopting the urgency procedure for a potential postponement of the regulation on imported deforestation (see EUROPE 13495/1). The vote on the European Parliament’s final proposal (and its amendments) is scheduled for November, at its next plenary session. The Council of the EU has already adopted its position on a one-year postponement (see EUROPE 13505/13), as proposed by the European Commission. (FS)
