03/10/24 (Agence Europe) – With Veronika Vrecionová (ECR, Czech) in the chair, it was decided on Thursday 3 October to postpone the election of the fourth vice-chair of the European Parliament’s Agriculture Committee until a later date (see EUROPE 13459/21). Dario Nardella (S&D, Italian) suggested postponing the election, pending an opinion from the European Parliament’s legal service on the need to respect gender equality in the constitution of the European Parliament’s committee bureaux. On behalf of the EPP group, Italy’s Herbert Dorfmann spoke out against postponing the vote. (LC)
