On Tuesday 24 September, the European Commission launched the 2024 call for proposals as part of the transport component of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), which has been allocated €2.5 billion to strengthen resilience and safety across the European Union’s trans-European transport network (TEN-T).
The selected projects will contribute to the development of sustainable and intelligent transport infrastructure and promote interoperability and resilience within the network, while harmoniously integrating different modes of transport. They will also strengthen the competitiveness of the internal market and improve quality of life, in particular by reducing emissions, according to the EU institution in a press release.
The eligible sectors include railways, inland waterways, maritime and inland ports, road safety, multimodal freight terminals, multimodal passenger hubs, safe and secure mobility, and infrastructure resilience.
An online information session will be held on Wednesday 2 October. The deadline for applications is Tuesday 21 January 2025.
