European Commission announces first delivery of mpox vaccine doses to Democratic Republic of Congo

On Thursday 5 September, the European Commission announced the arrival of 100,000 doses of mpox vaccine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), making this the first delivery of the vaccine to the African country. 

A second shipment of around 100,000 vaccines is expected in the next few days (see EUROPE B13474A15).

These vaccines are part of the 215,000 doses of MVA-BN® vaccine that the Commission’s Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA) has acquired and...
