05/09/24 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 5 September, the European Research Council (ERC) announced the award of almost 500 start-up grants (€1.5 million over 5 years) to young scientists and academics across Europe. This funding, totalling almost €780 million, will support cutting-edge research in a wide range of fields including life sciences, physics and the social sciences and humanities. It will help early-career researchers to launch their own projects, train their teams and pursue their most promising ideas, according to an ERC press release. Among the countries from which the beneficiaries come, Germany (94 grants), Italy (61) and France (44) account for the lion’s share. Further information: https://aeur.eu/f/dbz (MB)
