05/09/24 (Agence Europe) – Senior Indian officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defence visited Brussels and the Operation ATALANTA headquarters in Rota (Spain) from 2 to 4 September, the EEAS announced on Thursday 5 September. It says that this study visit, organised by the EU, was intended to further strengthen security and defence cooperation between the EU and India, in particular by familiarising Indian officials with EU security and defence mechanisms and exploring potential cooperation in Common Security and Defence Policy missions and in the Indo-Pacific region. “his visit highlights the shared commitment to strengthening security and defence ties. Maritime security is a common concern and prime focus for cooperation”, emphasised the EU ambassador to India, Hervé Delphin. (CG)
