22/08/24 (Agence Europe) – In early August, the European Commission adopted a €500 million financial support package for Lebanon for the period 2024-2025, as part of the €1 billion in financial support announced when its President, Ursula von der Leyen, visited the country in May (see EUROPE 13403/1). This support will enable the Lebanese authorities to carry out economic reforms, assist vulnerable people and strengthen border management, according to a press release from the EU institution. (MB)
