25/07/2024 (Agence Europe) – The latest monthly report on agri-food trade, published on Thursday 25 July by the European Commission, shows that in April 2024, the EU’s agri-food trade surplus reached €5 billion, 4% higher than in April 2023, despite a 25% drop compared with the previous month. Exports of agricultural products from the EU totalled €19.8 billion, mainly due to higher prices for olives and olive oil, explains the Commission. Imports of agricultural products into the EU totalled €14.8 billion. Almost 45% of EU imports are made up of a few product categories: coffee, tea, cocoa and spices, fruit and nuts, oilseeds and protein crops. Link to the latest report: https://aeur.eu/f/d4k (LC)
