European Commission approves four new agricultural designations

05/07/24 (Agence Europe)On Friday 5 July, the European Commission announced that it had approved the registration of four new agricultural designations. The first is ‘Istarski med / Istrski med’ honey, produced in Croatia and Slovenia and registered as a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO). The Commission then registered the PDO ‘Miel de Ibiza/Mel d'Eivissa’, a honey produced in Ibiza, Spain. The two other PDOs validated by the Commission are: ‘Batata-Doce da Madeira’, sweet potatoes produced on the islands of Madeira and Porto Santo, Portugal and ‘Lada Putih Muntok’, peppercorns produced in the province of Bangka Belitung Islands, Indonesia.
