12/06/2024 (Agence Europe) – At their meeting on Wednesday 12 June, the Member States’ Deputy Ambassadors (Coreper I) recommended that the Council endorse the political agreement on the amendment to the Council Regulation (EU/2021/1173) on a European initiative for high-performance computing to support the activities of start-up companies in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). This amendment introduces a new objective for EuroHPC, the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking. This amendment will enable EuroHPC to carry out activities, including support for start-ups, in the field of artificial intelligence and to create a one-stop shop to support activities in this field (see EUROPE 13415/7). The item will therefore be placed on the agenda of a future Council meeting for approval (A item). Link to the amending regulation: https://aeur.eu/f/cml (EV)
