12/06/2024 (Agence Europe) – Meeting in Brussels on Tuesday 11 June, the heads of the national delegations of the liberal ALDE party indicated that they were “ready to assume the leadership responsibilities within the Renew Europe parliamentary group” in the European Parliament. According to them, the results of the European elections showed that there is “a strong pro-European majority” in Parliament made up of the Christian Democrat (EPP), Social Democrat (S&D) and centre-right political groups, which would have around 400 votes in the chamber. The ALDE party says it is ready to negotiate to “formalise” this possible coalition. The next meeting of the ALDE heads of delegation will take place on Tuesday 18 June. (MB)
