EU’s Joint Research Centre identifies binding, empathetic, inclusive and transparent policies as drivers of equality

On Monday 10 June, the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre published a report entitled ‘Delivering on equality and inclusion’, aimed at improving understanding of how equality measures are perceived and accepted by majority and/or dominant groups. Its author, social inclusion expert Laura Cassio, sets out a roadmap for promoting equality within the European Union, based on binding legislation, empathy, universal policies and transparency.
