Fight against illegal content, five new organisations join EU Internet Forum

The EU Internet Forum (EUIF) met on 4 June to welcome Amazon, SoundCloud, Mistral AI, Dailymotion and the Institute for Strategic Dialogue - a civil society organisation, said the European Commission in a press release on Wednesday 5 June.

These entities join the 17 digital companies already part of this organisation dedicated to the fight against illegal content online, which brings together Member States, EU institutions, EU agencies and representatives of the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism and the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre.

The EU Internet Forum, launched by the Commission in December 2015, combats the misuse of the Internet for violent extremist and terrorist purposes, online child sexual abuse, drug trafficking and online human trafficking.

The Commission’s action is based both on legislation on digital services and on proposals for regulations in the field of home affairs, such as the removal of online terrorist content and child pornography. (Original version in French by Solenn Paulic)
