Greece is referred to EU Court of Justice for failing to correctly transpose EU rules on proportionality of professional regulations

On Thursday 23 May, the European Commission decided to refer Greece to the Court of Justice of the EU in the infringement proceedings opened against Athens, accused of failing to comply with the Proportionality Test Directive. This requires Member States to assess the proportionality of any new rule restricting access to the regulated professions, and which applies since July 2020.
