European Commission proposes to permit Member States to use ‘RENURE’ fertiliser

On Friday 19 April, the European Commission decided to submit for consultation a proposal amending Directive 91/676/EEC (the Nitrates Directive) as regards the use of certain fertilising materials from livestock manure (see EUROPE B13111A8).

The aim of the proposal is to permit Member States to authorise the use of ‘RENURE’ fertilisers (nitrogen recovered from manure).
