ACER warns of urgent need to maximise electricity transmission capacity for cross-border trading

On Friday 12 April, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) published its opinion addressed to the European Parliament and the Commission, stressing the urgent need for transmission system operators (TSOs) to fulfil their obligation to make 70% of transmission capacity available for cross-border electricity trading by the end of 2025.

The Agency points out that failure to meet this target will jeopardise the ambitious targets for renewable energies.
