European Parliament validates agreement with EU Council on CO2 emission standards for heavy commercial vehicles

11/04/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 10 April, the European Parliament adopted by 341 votes to 268, with 14 abstentions, a provisional agreement with the Council of the European Union on the regulation setting CO2 emission standards for new heavy commercial vehicles (see EUROPE B13331A15). It includes a roadmap that sets out a reduction in emissions of 15% by 2025, 45% by 2030, 65% by 2035 and 90% by 2040 compared with 2020 levels. These targets will apply to HGVs weighing over 7.5...
